Banning TikTok in the US could have potential free speech issues. UOP law professor explains why

Members of Congress spent five hours grilling TikTok’s CEO on Thursday morning over its ties to China and its potential to serve up harmful content to minors. The CEO of Tik Tok tried to ease concerns, but many lawmakers were not buying it. Many of TikTok’s content creators spent the week meeting with lawmakers to try to convince them not to ban the app. Justice Kennedy professor of law Leslie Jacobs from the University of the Pacific said that the United States banning TikTok could potentially bring issues with free speech.
