Man Accused Of Having A Hoarding Problem Insists He’s Made ‘A Lot Of Progress’ Cleaning Up The Clutter

Jodee says that for the past dozen years of their 30-year marriage, her husband, Charlie, has had a hoarding problem. She says he buys food in bulk and has filled up their house, garage, two sheds, and multiple vehicles with clutter. She says he won’t let her touch it and refuses to get rid of any of it himself. “I’ve made a lot of progress,” insists Charlie, who calls himself a “collector” and a “treasure keeper.” He says Jodee is exaggerating about the clutter and disorder in their lives. Charlie says he grew up without money in an unstable household, didn’t have much “stuff” to begin with, then lost most of the possessions he did have when his mother left his stepfather. When Dr. Phil asks, “Are you a hoarder?” how does Charlie respond? Watch more from “Help! Our Home is One Big Storage Unit!” Check your local listing to find out where you can tune in to Dr. Phil.
