American volunteer Pete Reed killed in the Ukrainian war
After leaving the Marines, the 33-year-old from New Jersey volunteered as a medic in Iraq during the fight against ISIS, then headed to Ukraine with an aid group he founded. Reed’s family said a shell hit his ambulance on Thursday. NBC News’ Raf Sanchez hears from those who knew Reed to remember his selfless and compassionate character.
