China eases zero-covid policy amid protests
China has reported two additional deaths from Covid 19 as some cities move cautiously to ease anti pandemic restirctions following increasingly vocal public frustrations. People in Beijing and some other cities will no longer be forced to show a negative PCR test to use public transport. But many restrictions remain and authorities appear reluctant to hastily abandon their zero-covid policy while the danger of a mass infection among the unvacccinated elderly persists.
