Yet, Commonwealth leaders selected him as the honorary leader. The Commonwealth heads meet every two years, and the 2020 meeting was delayed until this year, in Kigali, Rwanda. For the meeting, Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall jetted to the country for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting—marking the first-ever British royal visit to the nation.In a speech during their visit, Camilla said, "I have heard the saying, 'God spends the day elsewhere, but he always spends the night in Rwanda'—and, having seen a little of this beautiful country and experienced your hospitality, I can quite understand why that might be the case."
