State Department Calls Out Iran's 'Gloating' After Attack On Salman Rushdie

State Department Spokesperson Ned Price condemned the attack on author Salman Rushdie, whose writing led to death threats from Iran in the 1980s, calling it "despicable." Noting that the investigation into the attack is ongoing, Price said,"It is no secret that the Iranian regime has been central to the threats against his life... more recently with the gloating that has taken place in the aftermath of this attack."
