#GlobalOdeToJoy — A Worldwide Project For Beethoven’s 250th Birthday

Welcome to the GLOBAL ODE TO JOY — an international video project celebrating Beethoven’s 250th birthday. Everyone can join. Learn how: https://www.GlobalOdeToJoy.com Beethoven saw his Ninth Symphony and its famous Ode to Joy chorus as a journey from despair to joy. #GlobalOdeToJoy aims to bring light to these dark days. In collaboration with YouTube and Google Arts & Culture, over 30 major cultural organizations on six continents plus artists, friends, and regular people are making and sharing videos that inspire joy using #GlobalOdeToJoy. At the same time, thousands of singers and musicians from around the world are coming together through the Stay At Home Choir to record a new version of Beethoven’s masterpiece with powerful new words by US Poet Laureate Tracy K. Smith. The project will culminate in December with a special finale video featuring the most joyful moments captured during the project set to the new soundtrack recorded by the global chorus and orchestra.
