Real Madrid playmaker James Rodriguez talked to Daniel Habif in his Podcast and revealed his thoughts about this past season and also what happened during the 2019 transfer window, when he was close to joining Atletico de Madrid only to stay with Real for the whole season.

“I would also like to know where I’ll be playing. Days or weeks can go by before I know where that will be, I truly don’t know. I want to go somewhere I can play and be happy. I played in some quality leagues already and I only have the Serie A and the Premier League left, we have to sit down and think about where I want to go or at least where they want me. Going to England would be good, it’s a top league,” said James about his future.

He was asked about his relationship with Zinedine Zidane.

“It’s a matter of his personal taste, he has his own taste for some players and I can respect that, it’s not something I can criticize. It’s tough when you don’t have as many chances as your teammates, I wanted to leave but the club didn’t let me. I wanted to go where I could play because I knew I was not going to play much. I wanted Real Madrid fans to remember me as the player who scored 36 goals and delivered 42 assists during my other period here, not this version of me,” he added.

It shouldn’t be difficult for Madrid to sell James Rodriguez considering that he wants to leave the club. However, Los Blancos shouldn’t expect big offers coming their way, so ultimately it will all be a matter of getting rid of his contract.
