Aug. 17--The Cubs will welcome any production from Addison Russell as they try to snap a four-game losing streak Saturday afternoon when they face the Pirates at PNC Park.

Russell, who was recalled Friday from Triple-A Iowa after batting .333 during a three-week stint, will start at second base and bat sixth as the Cubs try to avoid a third consecutive walk-off loss. Russell appeared in the eighth inning of Friday's 3-2 loss as defensive replacement.

The Cubs' 7-5 loss to the Phillies on Thursday in Philadelphia and Friday's 3-2 loss to the Pirates marked the first time the Cubs suffered consecutive walk-off defeats since May 5-6, 2018, in St. Louis. Friday's loss was the Cubs' fourth walk-off loss in their last 16 road games since July 23 in San Francisco. Friday's defeat also was the Cubs' sixth in which they entered the ninth inning with a lead, the most such losses in the majors this season.

The Cubs' Jon Lester will oppose fellow left-hander Steven Brault.

Here's the Cubs' lineup:

Castellanos RF
