No. 3 Alabama softball (52-8 current) season has come to a close with the SCORE loss to Florida State in the "win-and-advance" semi-final round of the Women's College World Series.

Montana Fouts started the game but coach Patrick Murphy was forced to go to Lexi Kilfoyl in the second inning. Fouts' start of 2.2 innings is her shortest appearance of the year and the six earned runs match a season-high (Texas A&M).

The Crimson Tide bats came alive in the third and fifth inning behind an RBI double and two-run home run from Bailey Hemphill, who played her last game in an Alabama uniform tonight.

The Crimson Tide's 2-0 loss to FSU on Sunday was their first since April 17 and snapped a 20-game winning streak.

In the loss last night, the Alabama offense mustered only two hits, one walk and only had one base runner reach second. Lexi Kilfoyl started and finished the game with nine strikeouts, but walked in the first run of the game in the fifth inning. The Seminoles added an insurance run in the sixth behind some defensive miscues.
