a person in a baseball uniform throwing a ball © Rick Scuteri-USA TODAY Sports Zack Grienke is not known as a guy who minces words, and that was true when he talked about the Home Run Derby on Monday.

The Arizona Diamondbacks ace made his feelings quite clear about the event — saying he wasn’t all that interested in staying for the duration.

Greinke is famous for his brutal honesty. You wouldn’t expect any less of him here.

Greinke’s comments also highlight a very real issue with the Home Run Derby. Though the addition of a clock has mitigated it somewhat, it’s an event that has lost some of its luster because of the lack of star participation and the length as a whole. Recent iterations have been better, but a lot of fans still tune out for the same reasons Greinke is.
