Syracuse, N.Y. -- Pitcher Scott Blewett has got his first taste of the big leagues on Friday night.

The righty out of Baldwinsville hurled two innings for Kansas City in relief against Milwaukee, giving up three hits, fanning two and walking none. He tossed 35 pitches, 23 for strikes.

Blewett was brought up from Kansas City’s alternate training site for third time on Wednesday when the Royals optioned right-hander Jakob Junis to the site and placed right-hander Matt Harvey on the injured list.

Blewett was twice recalled for one-day stints with the Royals in August but didn’t pitch either time.

Blewett, 24, was a second-round pick by the Royals in 2014. He rose to the Triple-A level for the first time last year, posting a 5-8 mark with an 8.52 ERA for Omaha of the PCL. In three spring training innings with Kansas City this season, he gave up five hits and four earned runs.
