The Miami Marlins were unable to come away with a field goal and two touchdowns, and lost 18-1 to the Washington Nationals on Monday night at Nationals Park. Washington had six home runs in the barrage, including two from Juan Soto… and one from veteran starting pitcher Jon Lester.

It wasn’t a cheapie for Lester, either.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, Lester cranked a 93 mph fastball over the right-center field wall. The blast had an estimated distance of 419 feet.

It’s the fourth homer of Lester’s career, and he’s actually turned into a good hitting pitcher after starting his career 0-for-66 at the plate.

The 37-year-old southpaw also turned back the clock on the mound, tossing seven scoreless innings (after entering with a 5.54 ERA).

An Ohtani-esque night for Lester in a blowout Nats win.
