While most Houston Astros fans were glued to their TVs waiting to see if some last-minute heroics would send the home team back to the World Series (which Jose Altuve provided), about 100 other diehards had enough faith in the outcome that they already were in line to buy their American League championship gear.

Gino Saenz was the first to arrive  at the Academy Sports and Outdoors at 7600 Westheimer. He didn't even wait for the victory to be in hand yet. "Back when it was the 7th inning," said an excited Saenz. "Waiting for the Astros to finish it up baby!"

He watched the rest of the game on his cell phone, as did dozens of others who fell in line behind him waiting for the store to open up to buy their championship gear. The line got longer as many rushed to the store to show their loyalty.

Within about 15 minutes of the Astros punching their ticket to the 2019 World Series, the doors opened, allowing 15 people at a time to come in and buy an assortment of officially licensed AL championship wear.

There's no shortage of clothing proclaiming the victory. From T-shirts, to baseball caps. all were emblazoned with designs proclaiming the 'Stros as the champs.

Chron.com caught up with Gino Saenz again, this time his arms overloaded with shirts for his entire family.  Many of these early-to-to-rise fans were already predicting a sweep over the Washington Nationals. And you can bet before the champagne corks fly again, they will already be in line ready to celebrate.
