Nate Oats calls Alabama softball pitcher Montana Fouts 'legendary' after her perfect game

Alabama softball starting pitcher Montana Fouts produced quite the performance against the UCLA Bruins in the 2021 Women's College World Series on Friday night. 

Fouts threw a perfect game as Alabama defeated UCLA 6-0. 

Her performance caught the attention of Alabama men's basketball coach Nate Oats

Entering the seventh inning, Oats said on Twitter, "If you’re not watching this performance by @MontanaFouts turn on ESPN2 and watch this last inning of @AlabamaSB."

After the game, Oats called Fouts' performance "legendary." 

Oats said after the game, "@MontanaFouts throws the first perfect game in the WCWS in 20 years on her birthday. That’s some legendary stuff right there! If you’re not tuned in for every game moving forward you’re missing out."

Fouts, whose 21st birthday was Friday, threw 95 pitches with 14 strikeouts in the 21 batters she faced. 

Alabama softball returns to action at 2:30 p.m. CT on Sunday against an opponent to be determined.
