The awards have started to roll in for Freddie Freeman after he put up another MVP-type season for the Atlanta Braves in 2020. When you step back and really look at it, Freeman’s season was remarkable in that he was diagnosed with Covid as summer camp was beginning and only ended up getting about a week of preparation. You can’t argue with the results as he put up a .341/.462/.640 line along with 3.4 WAR in just a 60-game season.

Those numbers helped Freeman earn Player of the Year honors from Baseball America. He was also named the NL’s most outstanding player by the MLB Player’s Association Choice Award for 2020. Here is a full list of the Players Choice Award Winners.

Of course, there should be one more big award coming down the pipe for Freeman later this winter.
