Big news has arrived for the Chicago White Sox, as the team has activated both Lucas Giolito and Tim Anderson from the Injured List.

With the postseason right around the corner, the Chicago White Sox have gotten even stronger on Tuesday. That's because the team has announced that both Lucas Giolito and Tim Anderson have been activated off the Injured List.

Both players had been dealing with hamstring injuries, but they're now healthy enough to get back on the field and make plays for the AL Central powerhouse. For Giolito, the team isn't wasting any time in getting him back in action, as he's set to start on Tuesday for the club.

Lucas Giolito was activated off the IL and will start against the Angels on Tuesday night

For the White Sox as a whole, the team continues to inch closer and closer to wrapping up a division title. Entering Tuesday's contest with Los Angeles, Chicago's magic number is down to nine. The White Sox have been magnificent this season and hold a 12-game lead over the second-place Cleveland Indians.

Remember all the negative noise surrounding the team and Tony La Russa earlier in the year? Yup, that's all forgotten, as the White Sox are looking like serious contenders to compete for a World Series title this fall.

On the season, Giolito is 9-9 with a 3.69. He's also tied for 15th in the bigs with his 180 strikeouts. Meanwhile for Anderson, the shortstop is hitting .302 this campaign with 14 homers and 53 RBI in 108 games played.

He may have missed some time due to his hamstring injury, but Anderson has his eyes on recording some big-time hits for the White Sox in the postseason. Fans can't wait to see what this club will be able to do once the playoffs do arrive.
