Jon Huber, the wrestling star known as Luke Harper to WWE fans and also as Brodie Lee, has died, AEW announced on Saturday. He was 41.

Huber’s wife Amanda later confirmed her husband’s death, revealing that he died surrounded by loved ones after a battle with a lung issue that was not COVID-19. She praised the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota for its skilled care.

Huber was well-traveled in his career, going from independent and local circuits like Chikara, Squared Circle Wrestling and even Dragon Gate in Tokyo to WWE in 2012.

First fighting under the name Brodie Lee, Huber adopted the moniker Luke Harper with WWE and soon found success as a member of the Wyatt Family, winning titles like the NXT Tag Team Championship and the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship. He also won the WWE Intercontinental Championship in 2014.

Amid frustrations with his lack of use by WWE, Huber requested his release last year and made his debut with AEW soon after receiving it. He eventually won the AEW TNT Championship, and was among the promotion’s most popular wrestlers until his death.
