Conor McGregor took fighting to a new level Thursday.
The MMA superstar was arrested and is expected to be charged with assault after he was seen on video attacking a bus attempting to leave the Barclays Center.
The video shows McGregor and his entourage attacking the bus and hurling objects through the bus windows, leaving fighter Michael Chiesa cut up and bloodied, according to a TMZ report.
One of the people with McGregor then tossed a chair through the front windshield of the bus, and McGregor was restrained attempting to do the same.
MMA fighters were at the Barclays Center for a media session ahead of Saturday’s UFC 223, where McGregor was supposed to fight Artem Lobov.
Following the altercation, that fight won't be happening.
"The organization deems today’s disruption completely unacceptable and is currently working on the consequences that will follow," the UFC said in a statement. "Immediately, Lobov has been removed from this weekend’s card and individuals involved in the incident are not welcome at tomorrow’s ceremonial weigh-in or Saturday’s event at Barclays Center.”
White said Wednesday that Saturday’s fight will mark the end of the inactive McGregor’s title as lightweight champion. White called Thursday's attack "criminal, disgusting and it makes me sick," according to USA Today.
McGregor was none too thrilled with White’s announcment about losing his lightweight title, tweeting early Thursday morning that “You’s’ll strip me of nothing you’s do nothing c--ts.”
