Dallas-native Charlotte North — the most decorated lacrosse player in NCAA history — is turning pro.

The Episcopal School of Dallas alum signed a contract on Tuesday to compete with Athlete’s Unlimited for its second-ever lacrosse season from July 21-Aug. 14.

North is a two-time Tewaarton award winner — an honor given to the nation’s top collegiate lacrosse player — the NCAA’s all-time scoring leader with 358 career goals and a 2021 national champion. She was also nominated for an ESPY on Tuesday for Best College Athlete in women’s sports. North led Boston College to its fifth-consecutive NCAA title game appearance in 2022, falling 12-11 to North Carolina.

Athlete’s Unlimited is an innovative, player-centric model of professional sports aimed to give undervalued female athletes power over the league’s decisions and agency over their careers.

Before her three-year stint at BC, North began her college career at Duke. She also attended ESD and led the ESD Eagles to their first state title during her senior season in 2017.

Once she wraps up her participation in the World Lacrosse Championships this week, North will head to the USA Lacrosse Headquarters in Baltimore where all AU lacrosse games will take place this season. AU is the only professional women’s lacrosse league in the United States, and North was the top pick in the 2022 AU Lacrosse College Draft in May.
