NJ.com’s projections for the boys soccer state tournament, Oct. 23

NJ.com logo NJ.com 10/23/2020 Brian Deakyne, nj.com

The question has been posed countless times already this season.

How would you seed the state tournament this year?

This year’s boys soccer state tournament will look nothing like it has in the past — instead of using power points to seed it, the NJSIAA will be seeding by a committee, factoring in power points along with other criteria.

As previously laid out, the state tournament will also look, physically, like nothing it has in the past. Gone are the traditional state tournament sections and replaced by localized regions selected by the Department of Health.

Leading up to the state tournament seeding in early November, NJ Advance Media will put our own projections for the seeds, the first of which can be found below.

If the state tournament was seeded on Oct. 23, here’s how we would do it:

NOTE: For the purposes of this projections, we’re going to seed each group individually and the non-publics together. The NJSIAA has previously stated that some groups may be combined to fill out a bracket.
