One killed in weekend motorcycle crash near Lake Mead

The Nevada Highway Patrol says that the rider of a motorcycle that crashed on Sunday near Lake Mead has died. 

The 63-year-old male rider, identified as David Wayne Pealer from North Las Vegas, was traveling northbound on Northshore Road around 7:30 a.m.

His 2018 Ducati Monster 1200R motorcycle for an unknown reason drifted onto the right shoulder and continues into the rocky landscape. 

The bike overturned and ejected Pealer. He was taken to UMC Trauma where he died from his injuries sustained in the crash.

This it NHP Southern Command's 26th fatal crash and 27th traffic-related death. 

The crash remains under investigation.
