WWE fans are awaiting the seemingly inevitable returns of Sasha Banks and Naomi, who reportedly recently agreed to come back to the company.

It's been nearly three full months now since the former WWE Women's Tag Team Champions walked out of the 5/16 edition of Raw. On SmackDown four days later, Michael Cole revealed that the two had been suspended indefinitely and that a new tournament would be held to determine the new Women's Tag Team Champions. However, multiple reports have indicated that Banks and Naomi will eventually return.

In an update, Dave Meltzer reported on Sunday Night's Main Event (h/t, that the two fan favorites agreed to return to WWE at some point last week. At this time, however, it's unclear on when they'll return on television:

"Last week, which is the last I checked, the contract hadn't been signed but they were all expecting that it was happening. They were all on the same page. I was basically told it's as good as done but they haven't signed so it could fall through. They may have already signed by now but a week ago, (I was told) they're back.

It could be tomorrow, it could be in a couple of weeks. It's whatever day they want. They are probably pacing things. You don't want to show all your cards in week 1 (after Triple H taking over). You want to have something big to talk about every week for the next couple of weeks. An agreement in principle was reached over a week ago."

As previously noted, Banks and Naomi reportedly walked out of the 5/16 Raw show because they were discontent with the plans for the main event that evening. Apparently, the plan was for Naomi to win a Six-Pack Challenge match that would've made her the No. 1 contender for Bianca Belair's Raw Women's Championship. But WWE had to change up the plans following the walkout. Asuka went on to defeat Becky Lynch in a singles match to become the new No. 1 contender for Belair's championship.

That's all in the past now, as it looks like the two former SmackDown Women's Champions will eventually make their highly-anticipated returns.

The Women's Tag Team Championships Tournament Competitors

It wasn't until last week where WWE announced the plans and tag teams for the tournament. We now know which eight teams will compete for the vacant tag team titles. Those duos are: Nikki A.S.H. and Doudrop, Iyo Sky and Dakota Kai, Raquel Rodriguez and Aliya, Nikkita Lyons and Zoey Stark, Sonya Deville and Natalya, Tamina and Dana Brooke, Asuka and Alexa Bliss and Shotzi and Xia Li.
