12 Suspended After Angels, Mariners Brawl

MLB has suspended 12 players, managers and coaches following a brawl between the Seattle Mariners and the Los Angeles Angels. The melee kicked off after Angels pitcher Andrew Wantz hit Mariners left fielder Jesse Winker with a 91-mph fastball. The fight erupted as Winker made his way towards the Angels’ dugout and lasted for about four minutes. Angels interim manager Phil Nevin received the longest suspension at 10 games. Winker received a seven-game suspension after approaching the Angel’s bench. Wantz, who denied intentionally hitting Winker, received a three-game suspension. In total, the suspensions of all 12 players, managers and coaches combine for a total of 47 games.
