It is remarkable the difference a year can make. This time in 2021, Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors had been written off as a title threat. The team had been ravaged by injuries two seasons in a row and it seemed like their window of contention had well and truly closed.

Fast forward to now, and Curry has led Golden State to yet another title and won Finals MVP for the first time in the process, as he accomplished the only thing missing from his resume. He has been showered with praise from all corners since then and Derek Fisher was the latest to heap praise on the Warriors guard.

via FanNation:

"Steph Curry has separated himself as one of the few guys in the history of our game, that when you look back, wherever he was or whenever he played, his teams were really successful," Fisher said. "I put him in that category with Tim Duncan, Kobe, and Shaq. Wherever he is, success is going to follow."

That is high praise indeed to be mentioned alongside those greats and Curry deserves it after his exceptional play. Shaquille O'Neal probably would agree with that assessment too, as he claimed that Curry is already in his company as an all-time top 10 player and he said that even before Steph won this championship. He will be looking to further strengthen his resume by winning it all next year as well, but there is going to be some strong resistance from the likes of the Clippers, Suns, Grizzlies, and Nuggets to name a few.

Fisher also stated that the Clippers have as good a chance as anyone to make it to the Finals and we hopefully will be treated to a series between them and the Warriors next season. The Clippers do look to be the favorites in the eyes of a lot of people but if there is anything this past season has shown us, it is that you don't doubt Curry and the Warriors.
