Former Boston Celtics and Minnesota Timberwolves player Justin Reed passed away last night at the age of 35. Reed was battling a cancer of the inner lining of blood vessels called angiosarcoma.

He played his college ball for Ole Miss where he will be remembered as one of the best Rebels to put on a jersey.

In fact,  olemisssports.com named him a candidate for the Ole Miss basketball century team. From 2001-2004 Reed amassed 1,785 points, a number that ranks fifth all-time in school history. He was also named SEC Freshman and Newcomer of the Year in 2001 and became the first Rebel ever to earn all-SEC honors every year of his career.

His production at OIe Miss paved the way for him to be selected in the second round of the 2004 NBA Draft by the Celtics.

A GoFundMe page had been set up to help Reed's fight against cancer and raised $28,413. Prayers go out to Reed's family and friends.
