LeBron James' Epic Response After Lakers Move To 7th In The West
LeBron James is ecstatic after the Lakers registered a crucial win over the Timberwolves to climb up to the seventh seed in the Western Conference.
It has taken 77 games into this 2022-23 NBA season but the Los Angeles Lakers are finally above .500 at 39-38.
They moved up to seventh in the Western Conference after a win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday night and LeBron James is delighted with the result.
LeBron didn't have a great game here as he scored 18 points on 7-19 shooting, but he did have 10 rebounds and 6 assists. The thing about this Lakers roster at the moment though, is that they can still win games even if he isn't playing well, which hasn't been the case for most of his career.
Anthony Davis was magnificent as he scored a game-high 38 points while the other three Lakers starters scored in double digits as well. We have seen teams that LeBron is on, crumble when he isn't playing or doesn't put in great performances, but that is not the case with this iteration of the Lakers. It won't be long though before LeBron starts playing up to his usual level, as he tries to get back into a groove following his foot injury.
LeBron James Smells Weakness In The Western Conference
Considering the Lakers started the season 2-10, they have done well to climb out of that hole they dug themselves in. This seemed especially unlikely when LeBron suffered that foot injury in late February, but the rest of the team ensured they stayed afloat in his absence.
The fact that they had a chance at the sixth seed gave LeBron even more motivation to come back as soon as he could. Another reason for his eagerness to return was that he along with the likes of Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry, smell weakness in the Western Conference, as per Brian Windhorst. No team in the West has really looked utterly dominant this season and these superstars believe they have a great chance at making it to the NBA Finals.
