Lewis Hamilton Turned Down A Role In Top Gun: Maverick

Seven-time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton has revealed he had to turn down a role in Top Gun: Maverick. Hamilton, who is good friends with Hollywood megastar Tom Cruise, was offered the role of a fighter pilot. Hamilton described the decision to turn down the role as "the most upsetting call that I think I've ever had." Hamilton says he was unable to take on the role as filming took place during the F1 season. The original movie made Hamilton want to become a fighter pilot as a child so he asked Cruise to be in the movie. "I said, 'I don't care what role it is. I'll even sweep something, be a cleaner in the back," Lewis Hamilton. The movie would have offered Hamilton a chance to live out one of his childhood dreams.
