Jordan Poole, No. 3 of the Golden State Warriors, goes up for a layup against the Philadelphia 76ers during the first quarter at Chase Center.

There is perhaps no better example of just how much Warriors guard Jordan Poole has improved as an NBA player this season than by his amazing impression of teammate Stephen Curry during Wednesday’s game against the 76ers.

Golden State spent a solid chunk of its first half down double digits, when Poole pulled off an all-too-familiar feat for Warriors fans: he released a shot from beyond half court to beat the halftime buzzer, adding an extra three points from a jaw-dropping distance. Not only did the shot get the crowd on its feet because it was impressive, but it also cut Philly’s lead to single digits from 61-49 to 61-52.

Poole has really broken out this year for the Warriors this season. He's averaging career highs in typical counting stats (points, rebounds, assists), and he’s also shooting better than he ever has in his three-year career.

This was encapsulated in a recent performance when he put up 33 points on just 13 shots, shooting 10-of-13 from the field, which is something not even Steph has achieved in his career.

While this would have been a welcome sight under any circumstances for Golden State, it’s especially huge for a team that has started out so hot this season. With players like Poole performing well, it requires superstars to carry less of the load with regards to this dominance. This not only applies to Curry, but also later Klay Thompson, who will almost certainly still need some time to readjust to an NBA game’s pace after rehabbing a torn ACL and Achilles.
