A cancer-free Dick Vitale is once again calling college basketball games
Dick Vitale is back, baby.
After two bouts with cancer and a significant time off-air in recovery, Dick Vitale, arguably the voice of college basketball, is back courtside.
Even better news: He's completely cancer-free.
It's going to be incredible to hear and see him call another Duke game — he loves his Blue Devils, baby — but having him back for a huge Tuesday night clash between Michigan State and No. 4 Kentucky is still quite the treat.
Vitale was asked how he felt by his broadcast partner, Dan Schulman. Is being back now just like getting back on the bike?
"This is the best medicine I could have, sitting at courtside," Vitale said. "I'll tell you one thing, it beats laying in a hospital doing chemotherapy — I can guarantee you that.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you, to so many who encouraged me and inspired me to really battle, and to win that battle"
