Look: Mercer Island baseball beats Kennewick 8-4 in WIAA Class 3A state championship
PASCO, Wash. — Mercer Island built a seven-run lead early and withstood a late Kennewick push to win the Class 3A state championship on Saturday at Gesa Stadium.
The Islanders entered the tournament the 12-seed and took down four of the top five seeds to hoist its second championship in program history — both under head coach Dominic Woody.
