Michigan State landed a huge transfer today with the addition of Joey Hauser, which will solidify Izzo's lineup for 2019 barring some unforeseen development.

"We're very excited to add Joey Hauser to our roster and welcome him to the Spartan family," MSU Head Coach Tom Izzo said. "Joey is a kid we recruited out of high school and we were very familiar with him and he knew us. We believe in him as a person and really love what he brings to the table as a player. He's a hard-working player who is versatile, has a high basketball IQ and is a winner. We think he'll be a great addition for our program."

With Joey Hauser's commitment today, Michigan State's roster, already ranked at the top of the league in many preseason lists, is now set for the 2019-20 season. Hauser will likely be required to sit out this year, meaning the roster is now set with basically what we expected.

Projected Starters:

Point Guard, Cassius Winston

Shooting Guard, Joshua Langford

Forward, Kyle Ahrens or.. Rocket Watts (?)

Forward, Aaron Henry

Center, Xavier Tillman

Bench: Gabe Brown, Foster Loyer, Marcus Bingham Jr., Thomas Kithier, Malik Hall, Julius Marble, Connor George, Braden Burke, Jack Hoiberg, Brock Washington

The biggest of this group will be who takes the fifth spot in the starting lineup. I think Ahrens is the chalk pick for that position, but we could definitely see Rocket Watts appear in a three-guard lineup at some points. Another wild card for that role could be Marcus Bingham Jr., who, if he has improved on defense, could be a lethal scoring option in that unit.

The last unknown would be Malik Hall. While not as highly touted as Watts, Hall fits the mold of a forward at 6'7, 190 pounds. It's unlikely, but if he comes into camp further along than expected, he'd be a nice fit in terms of size in that lineup.
