TCU Men's Basketball: Horned Frogs Bounce Back Against West Virginia

Without their star player Mike Miles, TCU's strength in numbers got them their sixth conference win.

We all know the saying by coach Dutch Meyer, "Fight 'em till hell freezes over, then fight 'em on ice!" In some ways, TCU was literally playing on ice. In front of a majority student crowd, the Horned Frogs took a 76-72 win over West Virginia to improve to 6-3 in conference play.

Mike Miles was inactive this game as he recovers from a hyperextended knee. There is still no timetable for his return. However, they did get some reinforcements as Eddie Lampkin and Rondel Walker returned to the court. In Miles' absence, guards Damion Baugh and Shahada Wells stepped up big time. Baugh finished with 16 points, six rebounds and 10 assists. He got to the basket with ease and fought off lots of contact. Wells also finished with 16 points to pair with five assists. He has certainly found a role this season.

JaKobe Coles led all scorers with 17. Xavier Cork shot 100% from the field to finish with 15 points, two blocks and one mean posterizer that had Schollmaier Arena rocking.

After suffering a tough loss in Morgantown a couple weeks ago, this was a great response from TCU. In this competitive Big 12, every conference win is huge. The Horned Frogs hit the road to take on Oklahoma State this Saturday at 1 p.m.
