Players from the NIC-10 head our list for the final week of the regular season:

Adrian Palos, Harlem

Palos ran for two touchdowns and more than 200 yards to pass East's Javius Catlin for the NIC-10 rushing lead and lead Harlem (8-1) to a 36-0 victory over Auburn.

Joey Alvarez, Jefferson

Jefferson lost 64-0 to Hononegah, but J-Hawks linebacker Joey Alvarez made 15 tackles with a club on his right hand to protect an injured wrist.

Mikey Loeding, Belvidere

Loeding ran for two touchdowns in Belvidere's 32-28 win over Guilford. Belvidere (2-7) won more games than in the last two seasons combined (1-15).

Kaden Finnestad, Belvidere

Finnestad kicked a 40-yard field goal in Belvidere's 32-28 win over Guilford. Coach Tony Ambrogio said that was a school record, beating the previous mark of 37 yards.

Chandler Alderman, North Boone

The junior quarterback completed 15 of his 22 passes — with four of those incompletions being drops by his receivers — for 201 yards with 5 touchdown passes and no interceptions on Friday. Alderman has 11 TDs and no picks in the last two weeks, which happened to be do-or-die games in terms of North Boone's playoff hopes.

Trenton Taylor, Durand/Pecatonica

Taylor had 23 carries and rushed for 182 yards and 2 TDs as Du/Pec surged past Stockton 22-0 to hit the postseason on a four-game winning streak.

Jamyr Pitts, Lutheran

The senior running back and linebacker rushed 23 times for 92 yards with back-to-back touchdowns. He also had 8 1/2 tackles and an interception on defense as Lutheran (4-5) closed out its season with two wins in the last three weeks, including Friday's 22-14 victory over Winnebago.

Mason Weckler, Belvidere North

The North quarterback ran for 120 yards and two touchdowns in the Blue Thunder's 31-26 win over Freeport.

Dedric Macon, Freeport

The versatile sophomore ran five times for 65 yards and two touchdowns and caught four passes for 60 yards in Freeport's 31-26 loss to Belvidere North (7-2).

Tarrone Jackson, Freeport

Jackson's third-quarter touchdown run pulled Freeport (3-6) to within 24-20, and he made 10 solo tackles, three assisted tackles and two tackles for loss in the Pretzels 31-26 loss to Belvidere North (7-2).

Ethan Palzkill, Byron

Palzkill, the fifth-leading rusher in the Big Northern Conference headed into Week 9, had only one carry for 15 yards in Friday's 74-0 win for Byron over Rockford Christian. But he had back-to-back punt returns for touchdowns in the first quarter. Palzkill took a punt 49 yards to the house with 6:42 left in the first, and then went 52 yards to the end zone on another with 4:49 to go in the opening quarter. He later scored on a 3-yard TD pass from QB Braden Smith while helping Byron hit the playoffs unscathed.

Isaac Whisenand, Hononegah

Whisenand completed 5 of 6 passes for 54 yards and two TDs and ran twice for 22 yards and a TD in Hononegah's 64-0 win over Jefferson.

Connor Dennis, Boylan

Boylan's sophomore quarterback completed 12 of 17 passes for 200 yards and two touchdowns in a 28-14 win over East.

Aiden Wolfe, Aquin

Wolfe threw for 199 yards and 2 TDs, completing 12 of his 26 passes with one interception, but Aquin fell to undefeated Polo 38-20.
