College football picks, odds, 2021 Championship Week bets from top expert: This three-leg parlay returns 6-1
No. 5 Oklahoma State might need some help if it wants to make the College Football Playoff, but a win over No. 9 Baylor in Saturday's Big 12 Championship Game might be enough to jump No. 4 Cincinnati. The Cowboys are 5.5-point favorites over the Bears in the latest Championship Week college football odds at Caesars Sportsbook. Cincinnati is a 10.5-point favorite over No. 21 Houston in the AAC title game. The Cowboys and Bearcats could potentially both make the field if No. 1 Georgia knocks out No. 3 Alabama in the SEC Championship Game.
Bettors will be wanting to monitor all the results throughout Saturday's portion of the Championship Week college football schedule. Should you be backing any of the heavy favorites, or will underdogs disrupt the final CFP rankings? One of Sallee's top college football picks for Championship Week: He's backing No. 21 Houston (+10.5) against No. 4 Cincinnati in the 2021 AAC Championship Game on Saturday at 4 p.m. ET.
The Cougars might be the most underrated team to take the field during Championship Week. They have been excellent ever since losing to Texas Tech in their season opener. Houston has won six straight road games, including a 45-17 blowout at UConn last week.
Cincinnati will be dealing with a ton of pressure on Saturday afternoon, as a win would give the Bearcats a great shot at making the College Football Playoff field. Houston has better defensive numbers this season and its offense is just as capable as Cincinnati's. There is no reason why the Cougars should be double-digit underdogs in the AAC Championship Game.
"The Cougars have won 11 straight, quarterback Clayton Tune has settled in nicely and they're 2-0 against the spread as 8.5 to 12.5 underdogs," Sallee told SportsLine. "Plus, it's still hard for me to trust a Bearcats team that, other than the win over SMU two weeks ago, has been a little sketchy in most of their games in the second half of the season."
How to make Championship Week college football picks
Sallee has also found two other college football picks he's high on, including a play on a team set to roll to an easy cover that "will impress members of the College Football Playoff selection committee." You can only see his picks at SportsLine.
