Michigan’s football program is beginning to pick up momentum on the recruiting trail.

The Wolverines landed their third commitment in the past two weeks as Merrillville (Ind.) 2022 three-star defensive tackle Kenneth Grant announced his verbal pledge Tuesday in a post on Twitter.

The 6-foot-4, 335-pounder chose Michigan over other finalists Ohio State and Wisconsin. He is ranked as the No. 511 recruit nationally., per 247Sports’ Composite.

“110% committed!” he wrote. “I want to thank everyone that helped me choose my decision and took time out of there life to help and recruit me.”

Michigan offered Grant in March and hosted him on an official visit Sept. 11 for the Washington game at Michigan Stadium. He has 16 tackles, including 8 1/2 for loss and 2 1/2 sacks in six games this season, according to MaxPreps.

Grant, who has 15 reported offers, becomes Michigan’s 18th commit in the 2022 class, which currently ranks 15th in the country and No. 3 in the Big Ten. He also is the second interior defensive lineman to commit, joining three-star Mason Graham, who announced his pledge Sept. 16.
