Memphis is searching  for a new linebackers coach after Bert Watts was hired by Auburn on Thursday.

Watts spent one season at Memphis after being hired following two seasons as Fresno State's defensive coordinator. He will coach outside linebackers and serve as special teams coordinator for Auburn under first-year coach Bryan Harsin.

Watts is the second Memphis assistant to leave for an SEC program since the season ended. Pete Lembo, the associate head coach/special teams coordinator for two seasons, was hired by South Carolina in December.
