Another Michigan State football defensive back has entered the NCAA transfer portal.

Fifth-year senior Emmanuel Flowers on Monday became the second Spartan secondary and special teams player in two days to enter the portal. Redshirt junior Michael Dowell went into the portal Sunday.

Flowers, a 6-foot-2, 205-pound native of Chino Hills, California, played in MSU’s first 11 games this season, logging three tackles in 83 defensive snaps mainly at nickel back and 111 plays on special teams. He did not play in the 13th-ranked Spartans’ 30-27 win over Penn State on Saturday.

In four seasons, Flowers played in 29 games and registered seven tackles. He will have one season of eligibility remaining thanks to the NCAA’s COVID-19 waiver.

MSU lost cornerback Kalon Gervin in late September, and he announced his intention to transfer to Wisconsin. Linebacker Chase Kline and defensive end Alex Okelo also entered the portal in September.
