The Colorado Buffaloes take another one off the board in the state of California. Mister Williams, a 6-foot-1, 220-pound outside linebacker from Oaks Christian HS (Westlake Village, Calif.) made it official by announcing his commitment to the Buffs 2020 class on Tuesday.

Williams comes to Boulder after skipping over offers from in-state schools UCLA, Cal, along with top-ranked LSU. A three-star, two-way standout at linebacker and running back for the OC Lions. Williams gathered up a total of 49 tackles with a sack and a pass deflection on defense, along with 267 yards on 43 carries and two touchdowns out of the backfield this season.

As a junior, Williams helped the Lions win the Marmonte League and advanced to the state semifinal. He recording 40 tackles (four for loss), five pass deflections and two QB hurries.

“Speed is a factor in football, especially when you make split-second decisions and getting through gaps and getting out of gaps and chasing down fast receivers and fast running backs,” Williams told the LA Times earlier this year. “It’s easier for me to move through and around linemen. Closing speed is very important. They have less time to make a move and more time for you to make a tackle.”

A legacy commit that got away from the Bayou. Williams’ father, Bruce, played linebacker at LSU. Williams is part of the Top 100 in the state of California in the class of 2020, according to 247 Sports.

Welcome, Mister!
