LSU quarterback Joe Burrow capped what could be considered one of the greatest single seasons in college football history by leading No. 1 LSU's 42-25 victory over No. 3 Clemson in the College Football Playoff championship game Monday.

Burrow put the topper on an incredible statistical performance that set the standard for quarterback play in the College Football Playoff era, not only at LSU, but also in the SEC and, indeed, all of college football.

Here's a look at nine amazing records Burrow set in the 2019 season:

60 passing touchdowns

Burrow closed out his 2019 season by breaking the FBS record of 58 touchdown passes set by Hawaii’s Colt Brennan in 2006.

1,035 total yards in the Playoff

Burrow also shattered the two-game record in this category; Watson compiled 779 yards in 2016. Burrow piled up 514 yards against Oklahoma and 521 yards against Clemson.

5,671 single-season passing yards

Burrow's yardage set the SEC single-season record and tied Houston quarterback Case Keenum's 2009 total for third-most in college football history. Only Texas Tech's Graham Harrell (5,705 in 2007) and B.J. Symons (5,833 in 2003) have thrown for more yards.
