Penn State’s Will Fries became the third player, and second offensive lineman, to announce his return for the 2020 season.

Fries, an honorable mention all-Big Ten tackle, is a three-year starter who will be Penn State’s most experienced player in 2020. The redshirt junior has started 32 games at three positions, including 18 at right tackle, where he spent this season.

“There are some goals that were set for me and this team which have not been achieved yet,” Fries wrote in a statement posted on Twitter. “We have more to accomplish and higher aspirations to strive toward.”

With Fries and center Michal Menet returning, Penn State will bring back five linemen with starting experience. In addition, tight end Pat Freiermuth announced he will return to Penn State’s offense.

Defensive end Yetur Gross-Matos, a projected first-round pick, will leave early for the NFL draft but plans to play in the bowl game. Draft-eligible players who have not announced their decisions include receiver KJ Hamler, defensive end Shaka Toney, cornerback Tariq Castro-Fields and safety Lamont Wade.
