Texas photographer Tom Campbell tweeted he heard a report "from a credible source that Texas Longhorns Special Teams Coach Jeff Banks' monkey allegedly attacked and seriously hurt a young Trick-or-Treater last night on Halloween." Campbell added that the monkey's jaws allegedly had to be "pried off" from the child.
"Hey neighbors i have built a haunted house /maze at my house, I'm welcoming all kids Sunday 7-930 pm," Danielle Banks wrote in a social media post, according to Campbell. She added that there would be an adult party from 7 p.m. until 11 p.m.

Before deleting her Twitter account, Banks defended herself, clarifying that an 11-year-old or 12-year-old should "know better" before entering someone's backyard without having permission.
"The rules were when you get to the gate turn around and come back out for candy," she added. "Every other parent and child did so."

Banks said this was a lie and that the monkey was "not apart of any haunted house," and she put blame on the child for being on the wrong side of the property. She added that until a doctor had notified her about the "small bite," she had not received any complaints from parents about the incident.
A spokesperson for the Travis County Sheriff's Office told the Washington Examiner that the office received no 911 calls regarding the incident and has no involvement in the matter.
