Top-30 2025 recruit Phillip Bell talks Colorado visit and Deion Sanders
Colorado made a good impression on one of 2025's best playmakers
When taking the head coaching job at Colorado, Deion Sanders was well aware that upgrades were needed all over the roster.
Without even having coached a game yet, Sanders has brought in a great first recruiting class and an even better transfer portal class. Now, while he is looking ahead to the start of the 2023 season, he and his staff are also focused on recruiting the next wave.
One of the handful of recruits that took a visit to Boulder recently was 2025 wide receiver, Phillip Bell. The Mission Hills, California native ranks as the No. 26 player in the country and as the No. 6 pass catcher overall. Bell took a couple visits to Washington, but also made sure to stop by Colorado to see the campus and meet Sanders.
A meeting that appeared to go well as Bell spoke highly of his visit in an interview with 247Sports saying:
"My visit to Colorado was nice, I like Colorado," said Bell. "Coach Deion is straight up, I like that about him. Colorado is actually very nice, I didn’t expect it to be that nice. And the first time, Deion Sanders walks into the room, its crazy because it's Deion Sanders, it's Prime Time. I had a good conversation with him and my mom and step dad and I liked it a lot."
Bell also got confirmation from Sanders himself that the new regime will be recruiting him and that his offer still stands.
The Buffs aren't the only program pursuing Bell, as he currently holds 26 offers and is planning visits to programs such as TCU, USC, Oregon, Georgia, Texas, and Tennessee among others.
Bell announced this past week that he was enrolling at Alemany HS in Southern California after having played previously at Sacramento (Calif.) Christian Brothers.
