Why UCF can cover

UCF has been one of the FBS's strongest programs in recent years and seems poised to put together a strong season. The Knights' versatile offense will make it tough for most teams to beat them. Gabriel's arm has accounted for more than half of the 622 yards of offense UCF has produced per game. Only one team has tallied more yards per contest in 2021. Then there's running back Isaiah Bowser, who's racked up 231 yards and five scores on 45 carries.

In its season opener, Louisville gave up 43 points to No. 17 Ole Miss, and UCF has comparable firepower. The Cardinals' defense still needs to prove it can hold off top-notch competition after holding Eastern Kentucky to three points last week.

Why Louisville can cover

The Cardinals didn't start 2021 strong, but have a weapon that no team has been able to figure out yet. Dual-threat quarterback Malik Cunningham makes Louisville's offense go and has a nose for the end zone. Cunningham has thrown for two scores and rushed for four through the first two games of the season. He has 108 rushing yards to go along with his 469 passing yards.

All four of Louisville's wins last year came at home. The Cardinals were 4-2 against the spread in 2020. Those records could bode well for success against a UCF team that hasn't played on the road this season.
