At the previous stop for FOX’s college football pregame show, local fans chanted Urban Meyer’s name.

It’s a safe bet he’ll receive a different reception this weekend.

FOX’s “Big Noon Kickoff” will be in Ann Arbor on Saturday for Michigan’s game against Maryland, which will kick off at 12:10 p.m. ET on the network.

Meyer is an analyst on the program, just as he was in 2019 and 2020. He spent last season as the head coach of the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars, getting fired midway through the season, but is best known as Ohio State’s head coach from 2012 to 2018. It’s that job, of course, that will draw the disapproval of Michigan fans on Saturday.

The show will broadcast live from the southwest corner of Stadium and Main, on Pioneer High School property across from Michigan Stadium, starting at 10 a.m..

Rob Stone is the host, joined by analysts Matt Leinart, Reggie Bush, and Brady Quinn. It is FOX’s equivalent of ESPNs College GameDay.

Meyer was fired by Jacksonville after an off-field scandal and reports of physical and verbal abuse towards his players. His tenure at Ohio State ended in scandal as well. Yet FOX decided to bring him back to “Big Noon Kickoff.”

Last week, the show was in Lincoln, Nebraska. The Cornhuskers were playing their first game since coach Scott Frost had been fired. Nebraska fans chanted, “We want Urban!”

Afterwards, Meyer said he was happy at FOX. He has not been linked to the Nebraska opening.

Meyer, 58, won three national championships: two at Florida and one at Ohio State. He was 7-0 against Michigan as the Buckeyes’ head coach.
