Everyone assumes Urban Meyer is eager to jump back into the collegiate coaching ranks but that may not be the case.

The veteran coach, current Fox Sports college football analyst told’s Tim May that he’s “happy” with his life right now.

“Are you interested in any kind of job coming up?” May asked Meyer on this week’s episode of “Urban’s Take.” “You seem to be in a comfortable place. What do you want to tell people about your availability?”

“I’m really happy with Fox and really happy with the lifestyle right now,” Meyer said. “Flying in today to see grandkids. I’m happy with what I am doing.”

Of course, potential college football suitors will come at Meyer with a wheelbarrow full of cash, which has been known to change a person’s mind.

Meyer hasn’t coached in the college ranks since 2018, when he left Ohio State citing health issues. However, he returned to coaching in 2021 with the Jacksonville Jaguars, a tenure that ended with Meyer fired after 13 games in disgrace after a series of highly publicized mishaps.

Yet the 58-year-old coach is still a hot property. Most recently, he’d been rumored as a candidate for the coaching vacancy with the Nebraska Cornhuskers as his employers at Fox seem to be adding fuel to that fire.

Meyer has a 187-32 college record, with three national championships, two at Florida and one at Ohio State.
