The Detroit Lions named Tom Marchese, from Vicksburg High School, the week nine recipient of the 2021 High School Football Coach of the Week Program.

The Bulldogs (8-1) won their week nine matchup against Otsego, 49-14, to finish second in the Wolverine Conference.

Vicksburg is ranked sixth in Division four.

On Friday, Vicksburg will host Three Rivers (5-4) in the pre-district round of the MHSAA Football playoffs.

Marchese has compiled a 73-61 overall record during his 14 seasons at Vicksburg.

Before Marchese's arrival in 2008, the Bulldogs only made the playoffs twice. This is their ninth playoff appearance in Marchese's 14 seasons.

Detroit Lions Football Education talked with Marchese about high school trophy games and the battle for "the bone" with their rival, Three Rivers.

Marchese's reaction to receiving Coach of the Week on Head Coach Hangout and his interview can be found of the Coach of the Week site
