Four-star safety Chris Thompson Jr. is scheduled to announce his commitment today, August 4th, at 1pm Central. Thompson is one of the top safeties in the 2020 recruiting class, ranked by Rivals as the number 210 overall player, 13th safety, and 33rd Texas product.

Out of Duncanville High School in Duncanville Texas, Thompson is a physical safety at 6'2" 199lb. He is a hard hitter and tough tackler who needs to work on his coverage abilities to make the next step as an elite safety. Thompson has NFL potential, and joining the star-studded Texas 2020 class should pave the way to reach those heights.

Currently, with less than two hours to his announcement, 247Sports has Thompson Jr.'s Crystal Ball set to 100% Texas, but things can change quickly - just ask Ohio State about Bijan Robinson.
