The San Francisco 49ers were forced to search for a new home for the next three weeks due to COVID-19 protocols outlined over the weekend by Santa Clara County that bans all contact sports in professional, collegiate and youth leagues.

It appears the team officially has a new place to call home — at least temporarily. San Francisco announced Monday that it has reached an agreement with the Arizona Cardinals and NFL to play its home games at State Farm Stadium in Glendale.

"The Cardinals organization, State Farm Stadium and League officials have been supportive and accommodating as we work through the many logistical issues involved in relocating NFL games," the 49ers said in a statement. "Information regarding the 49ers future practice arrangements will be shared at the appropriate time."

With the Niners' move to Arizona, they'll likely be forced to set up a bubble environment for the duration of their stay in the state. However, the team didn't reveal if that was the plan moving forward.

Moving to Arizona for a few weeks was the most logistical option for the 49ers. A 14-day quarantine period and strict COVID-19 protocols don't exist in Arizona, which will make it an easier move for the Niners. It's also just a short two-hour flight to Glendale.

The 49ers were supposed to host the Buffalo Bills at Levi's Stadium on Dec. 7 and the Washington Football Team on Dec. 13, but those games now will be played at State Farm Stadium.
