Brian Flores racial discrimination lawsuit update: 4th team set to be added to complaint, report says
Time for a quick update on the Brian Flores racial discrimination lawsuit.
Pro Football Talk report lawyers for the former Miami Dolphins head coach are preparing to amend the complaint.
Per a source with knowledge of the situation, attorney Douglas Wigdor requested on Friday, March 4, an adjournment of a conference set for March 18, 2022, based on the fact that Wigdor plans to file on behalf of Flores an amended complaint. The parties have agreed that the defendants will have 45 days to respond to the amended complaint, which will be filed on or before April 11, 2022.

According to the report, the letter to the judge doesn’t specify a reason for the amendment, but Pro Football Talk previously reported that Flores plans to add the Houston Texans to the lawsuit.
Flores initially sued the NFL and three teams: the Dolphins, New York Giants and Denver Broncos. But the Texans became a likely addition after Houston decided not to hire Flores as former head coach Daid Culley’s replacement. However the Texans’ head coaching job did go to another minority candidate: Lovie Smith.
Flores claims he was given a ”sham” interview by the Giants so the team could comply with the Rooney Rule before hiring former Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Brian Daboll as head coach to replace Joe Judge, who was fired in January after two seasons in New York.
The Pittsburgh Steelers hired Flores last month as a senior defensive assistant and linebackers coach.
